You can TIG weld a washer to the stud, then TIG weld a nut to the washer. Let it cool, drench it in Kroil, and back it out using the lowest setting on the impact gun. I've done a bunch of them now, and it works great. Done it on broken exhaust-to-intake bolts in exhaust manifold also. So far I'm batting 1000. Even on the one below which had been drilled nearly out first! I couldn't do it without a TIG welder though!
