MAKING REPOP FENDERS FIT
Bill Brauch photographed and wrote this great article on making reproduction fenders fit. Thanks for letting me use it!

Gaslight makes new front fenders. A few folks make rear coupe roadster fenders, and albreck towing makes the best. The gaslight fronts are not perfect, but much better than some years ago. I have installed a few pair on customer cars. They must be modified a bit in the area where the splash apron meets the curve of the fender. The flange is at the wrong angle, so either the splash apron flange or the fender flange must be cut in a few places to allow the flange to meet the other flange. To do this correctly, it is necessary to do some welding. The repro splash aprons fit the repro fenders better than do the original aprons.

Showing the cuts welded closed. Notice the flanges are not drilled, you must mark and drill the holes yourself.

Showing the finished fit, which while not perfect, is suitable for most folks, especially as how it is getting more difficult to find good originals.
